How to Make Smooth Stone in Minecraft

Needs: Regular stone + a furnace + fuel
  1. Mine cobblestone with any pickaxe, then smelt it in a furnace to get regular stone.
  2. Smelt that regular stone a second time in a furnace to produce smooth stone.
  3. Smooth stone is mainly used for crafting smooth stone slabs and as a decorative building block.

How to Get Honeycomb in Minecraft

Needs: A bee nest or beehive + an empty bottle or shears + a campfire (optional but recommended)
  1. Find a bee nest (natural) or place a beehive near flowers so bees produce honey.
  2. Wait until the nest/hive visually shows honey (dripping texture).
  3. Place a campfire beneath the nest/hive to calm the bees, then use shears to collect honeycomb without provoking them. Using a glass bottle instead collects honey rather than honeycomb.
  4. Honeycomb is used to make candles, waxed copper blocks, and honeycomb blocks.

How to Make Concrete in Minecraft

Needs: Sand + gravel + dye, then water
  1. Combine 4 sand, 4 gravel, and 1 dye of your chosen color in a crafting grid to make concrete powder.
  2. Place the concrete powder next to or in water (or have water flow over it) — it instantly turns into solid, colored concrete.
  3. Concrete doesn’t fall like sand/gravel and comes in all 16 dye colors.

How to Make a Copper Golem in Minecraft

Needs: 1 copper block (any oxidation stage) + 1 carved pumpkin or jack o’lantern
  1. Smelt 9 raw copper into copper ingots, then combine 9 copper ingots in a crafting table to make 1 copper block.
  2. Carve a pumpkin with shears (or use a jack o’lantern).
  3. Place the copper block on the ground, then place the carved pumpkin/jack o’lantern on top of it last — this triggers the transformation.
  4. The copper block becomes a copper chest, and a copper golem spawns. It automatically sorts items between copper chests and regular chests.
  5. Use honeycomb on the golem to stop it from oxidizing over time, or let it oxidize into a decorative statue.

How to Teleport in Minecraft

Needs: Cheats/commands enabled, or an Ender Pearl for short-range movement
  1. Command method (requires cheats enabled): use /tp [player] [x] [y] [z] or /tp [player1] [player2] to teleport to specific coordinates or another player.
  2. Survival method: throw an Ender Pearl to teleport a short distance to where it lands (this causes minor fall damage).
  3. Commands only work if cheats are enabled in your world settings or you have operator permissions on a server.

How to Make Obsidian in Minecraft

Needs: A water source + a lava source, or a diamond pickaxe if mining natural obsidian
  1. Find or place a lava source block (not flowing lava).
  2. Pour water onto the lava source from a bucket — it instantly turns the lava into obsidian.
  3. You need a diamond or netherite pickaxe to actually mine the obsidian once it forms.
  4. Obsidian is essential for building Nether portals (a 4×5 minimum frame) and enchanting tables.

How to Make a Map in Minecraft

Needs: 8 paper + 1 compass
  1. Craft or find 8 paper (see the paper recipe below) and 1 compass.
  2. Place the 8 paper around the edges of a crafting grid with the compass in the center to make an empty map.
  3. Hold the empty map to start revealing terrain around you as you explore.

How to Make a Bed in Minecraft

Needs: 3 wool + 3 wooden planks (any type)
  1. Place 3 wool blocks in the top row of a crafting grid.
  2. Place 3 matching or different wooden planks in the row below the wool.
  3. Sleep in the bed at night to skip to morning, or right-click it to set your spawn point.

How to Make Paper in Minecraft

Needs: 3 sugar cane
  1. Find sugar cane growing near water (rivers, lakes, ocean edges).
  2. Place 3 sugar cane in a horizontal row in a crafting grid to make 3 paper.
  3. Paper is used for maps, books, bookshelves, fireworks, and banner patterns.

How to Breed Horses in Minecraft

Needs: 2 tamed horses + golden apples or golden carrots
  1. Tame two horses first by repeatedly mounting them until they stop bucking you off.
  2. Feed both horses a golden apple or golden carrot while they’re near each other.
  3. Hearts will appear and a foal will spawn, inheriting a mix of stats (speed, health, jump height) from both parents.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need cheats enabled to teleport in Minecraft?

Only for the /tp command. Without cheats enabled, you can still teleport short distances survival-style by throwing an Ender Pearl.

Is the Copper Golem available on all Minecraft editions?

Yes, as of Minecraft 1.21.9 (Java) and 1.21.111 (Bedrock), the Copper Golem is fully available in both editions following its official release in “The Copper Age” update.

What’s the fastest way to get obsidian?

Pour a water bucket over a lava source block to instantly create obsidian, then mine it with a diamond or netherite pickaxe.

Can I breed horses with any food?

No — only golden apples and golden carrots trigger horse breeding, not regular apples or carrots.
